Woodbridge will look back on a game that they could quite easily have won by the finish, but also one they could quite easily have lost had they not improved.

To be fair it was a reasonable start to the game for a young Woodbridge side and as early as the 6th minute had very good claims for a penalty turned down when Smith beat the keeper to the ball but the referee waved away our good appeal. Although we had a lot of possession it was for the most part laboured and lacking any real spark to our game but aside from a free header at a free-kick , Rhodes was untested between our sticks. At the other end Heathcote went closest to opening the scoring cutting in from the right but his goalbound shot was deflected back out by a last ditch lunge from a defender with the keeper beaten. Midway through the half we contrived to give the ball away cheaply in the middle and a lame back-pass was seized upon and Rhodes was rounded to put us behind and for the remainder of the half, we struggled to get going with Stow having 2 other chances to increase their lead with our only effort coming late on with Heathcote once again being denied with a good low save.

Matters were made worse in the 2nd period when Stow increased their lead within minutes when a straight long ball was not dealt with and the nippy frontman getting away from our defence to finish well. This though seemed to wake us up and gradually we increased the tempo and a number of chances came our way. On the hour we got back int he game when a good move down the left saw Morphew and Seaman combine to set-up a chance for Heathcote to squeeze a shot through the keepers grasp and it was Heathcote that looked likely to get us back on level terms as 4 other chances went begging in the moments soon after. The equaliser finally came on 80 minutes when we had a freekick out wide which Morphew whipped in only to be deflected for a corner which when delivered was met with a flashing volley from Morphew which flew into the net. Almost straight away we were on the back foot with a crashing shot coming back off our bar but we had no less than 3 clear-cut chances to win the game but will at the same time ultimately be grateful for a terrific save from Rhodes in stoppage time to gain us the point.

Team: Rhodes, Baalham, Thickett, Clouting, Fulker, Smith, Baillie (Barton), Morphew (Kaznica), Seaman, Smy (Baldry), Heathcote.
