Woodbridge Town 2 Great Yarmouth Town 1
Saturday 5th September 2009
Woodbridge Town made progress in the FA Vase with a decisive 90th minute goal.
Substitute Sean Rea had been on the field for no more than a minute before winning possession in midfield and hitting a 25 yard effort over Great Yarmouth keeper Michael Hilton.

Woodbridge were but a shadow of the side which performed so encouragingly in the midweek defeat to Leiston but took a one goal lead in at the interval after Ben Goddard burst into the penalty area past two defenders squaring to Jay Churchyard who beat Hilton at the second attempt.

Yarmouth had lost defender Adrian Ager to injury with only five minutes on the clock but substitute Scott Woodcock delivered a string of dangerous crosses into the Woodbridge area, one of which Stuart Roach flicked on to Liam Bartley whose angled drive brought a smart stop from Town keeper Adam Wilson and on the stroke of half time Wilson again denied Bartley pushing an effort onto the post and away.

Town conceded a penalty for handball in the 78th minute but despite Wilson's initial block, Marty Magee levelled matters from the rebound and with seven minutes remaining Woodcock, with only the keeper to beat, missed a glorious opportunity for the Bloaters, firing straight into Wilson's arms.

Woodbridge introduced Jordan Seaman and Rea with the prospect of extra time looming but Rea's late winner earned a home tie for the Woodpeckers against Desborough Town in the next round.

Woodbridge Town: Adam Wilson, Seb Brimstead, Grant Monaghan, Tom Trevivian, Ben Miller, Craig Stuart, Aaron Churchyard, Liam Scopes (Jordan Seaman 85), Ben Goddard (Marcus Josiah 60), Jay Churchyard (Sean Rea 89), Ben Seaman.

Referee: Jario Marin
