Woodbridge Town 0 Newmarket Town 3
Saturday 20th February 2010
Woodbridge Town's miserable season continued against a confident
Newmarket side led by the experienced defensive duo of Colin Vowden
and Andy Eady.
The opening goal which had been threatened finally came in the 22nd minute when Eady's header from a corner bounced down off the bar and Vowden finished it off on the goal line.
Marcus Josiah made a few incisive runs for the home side but they failed in thje final third and the visitors impressed with a mixture of quick breaks, short passing and switching the play.
Steve Bell on the left was a constant threat for Newmarket and he thundered in a 25 yard drive into the top corner of the net to double the lead two minutes after half time.

Woodbridge to their credit tried hard in reply and Glen Snell had keeper Gillings diving to save and Josh Mayhew had a shot blocked from close range but the visitors still finding time and space held all the cards and Louis Baillie from 30 yards struck a perfect free kick high into the net to seal the win in the 83rd minute.

Woodbridge boss Mark Scopes was understandably disappointed but said he would continue to try to play the right way so hopefully his young side would have learned from their opponents today as at times their ball possession and movement was first class.
