A SOLITARY goal from the penalty
spot by ace taker, Kirkley keeper Robert
Woodcock, sealed the three points in the 39th
minute of an entertaining match. The spot kick
was awarded after Chris Henderson was sent
sprawling in the box by former Kirkley player
Liam Scopes. Woodcock gave his fellow stopper,
Adam Wilson, no chance at all. |

The first 20 minutes was nip and
tuck with Taz Grint, for Kirkley, and Marcus
Josiah, for the Woodpeckers, having the best of
the chances. On a quick break on the 34th
minute, Wilson came to the edge of his box to
thwart Henderson.
Woodbridge used all three substitutes early in
the second half, but a mix up in the home
defence saw Nathan Stone send his first-time
effort two yards wide, while a Russell Stock
header clipped the crossbar from a right-wing
Justin Fox corner.
