Hadleigh United 3 Woodbridge Town 1
Saturday 24th October 2009
Hadleigh made a great start to this Ridgeons League match with a goal after three minutes.

It came when the Woodbridge defence got in a real muddle and Chris Williams was too quick for keeper Tom Ross to a loose ball and the striker scored into an empty net. But the Woodpeckers were level after 10 minutes , when Josh Mayhew hit a great goal from 30 yards, wide on the left which gave keeper Aaron Benstead no chance. Aaron Benstead saved from Tom Trevivian at the expense of a corner, then Tom Ross saved from Ronaldo Wright also at the expense of a corner. Robbie Smythe then hit the bar for the "Woodpeckers ". After 41 minutes, Chris Williams centred from the right , with Ronaldo Wright accepting an easy chance to put Hadleigh ahead.

In the second half Woodbridge keeper Tom Ross saved well from a Chris Williams shot, Williams then fired in a fraction wide. Marcus Joshia fired into the side netting for the "Woodpeckers " , before substitute Chris Cowan started a move for Hadleigh with a killer pass, the move ended with Chris Williams netting the final goal after 71 minutes. At the other end Kris Rose cleared off the line to deny Robbie Smythe. But Hadleigh were on top with livewire Chris Williams hitting the post just before the end.
