Much like at Cornard, Woodbridge dominated the
game, playing some attractive free-flowing
football, but once again failed to turn their
superiority into goals & while there were many
pleasing aspects of the evening, including the
performances of new signings Gary Rose, Robbie
Smythe, Craig Stuart, Liam Jennings & Liam
Manning, the need for new firepower in attack
was clear for all to see!
Mark Roper had the game’s best moment breaking
out from defence & ending up on the end of a
flowing move only to be denied by the home
keeper’s legs. Paul Hart also forced a flying
save from the Wanderers keeper, but mostly
Woodbridge’s efforts at goal were from outside
the penalty area & relatively harmless.
The defence marshalled by Roper & Stuart dealt
ably with counter-attack threats & kept Rose
reasonably redundant although he had to be aware
on a couple of occasions.
