The ex
Wolves, Torquay United and Peterborough United
striker provided the assist in stoppage time for
Wisbech captain Lee Day to score his second of
the afternoon to the delight of the 445
spectators that had gathered at Fenland Park to
celebrate Veterans Day.
Lee Day had
earlier given Wisbech a twelfth minute lead
after Billy Smith sent a perfect cross to the
far post which was headed in from two yards. The
lead was short lived as five minutes later Ben
Garnham tried his luck from outside the penalty
area with a low drive which was intercepted 10
yards from goal by team mate Paul Hart who on
the turn shot past keeper Chris Horton.
Jack Severy
had three opportunities put the Woodpeckers in
front during the last ten minutes of the first
half, his first effort was fired straight at
Horton whilst another two shots flew over the
bar. Ben Seaman sent the best effort of the
second half towards the Wisbech net but his
strike was well tipped over by Horton.
Woodbridge
played their trademark passing game throughout
the 90 minutes earning praise after the match
for their attractive style of football from
Gallagher who coaches the Under 18's at Wisbech,
but despite deserving a point, Day's last minute
winner ensured Woodbridge remained in
seventeenth place in the final league table
