 CHURCHMAN CUP SEMI FINAL
.
Stonham Aspal 1 Woodbridge Town 2
Tuesday 06 May 2008
DANNY Tatum is turning out to be Woodbridge Town's lucky charm in this season's Churchman Cup.
Tatum, who scored the winning penalty in a shoot-out against Walsham-le-Willows in the last round, scored a fortuitous winner to send Woodbridge through to the final, where they will meet Ipswich Wanderers.

This match appeared destined for another shoot-out until Tatum scored with almost the last kick of the 90 minutes when his 20-yard daisy-cutter slipped through the fingers of the Stonham keeper for as soft a winning goal in a semi-final as you will see.

The goal summed up what had gone before in a game sadly lacking in quality as a young Woodbridge side produced a poor performance.

They had taken the lead early on when Ben Garnham found Craig Jennings wide on the right and his pinpoint cross was headed home by David Kempson, who was struggling with an injury and was replaced soon after.

Stonham drew level when Marcus Garnham lost sight of the ball in the sun and allowed it to bounce off his body and the loose ball was returned past him.

The Metaltec SIL Senior Division side looked the more likely to win the match in the second period and twice struck the crossbar, but it was Tatum's goal that sent the visitors through to the final at Woodbridge on Tuesday, May 13th.

Woodbridge Town: Marcus Garnham, Arran Sheppard, James Bales (sub Carl Wiidowson), Ted Nichols, Stefan Marsh, David Kempson (sub Luke Read), Sean Rea, Ben Garnham, Craig Jennings, Danny Tatum, Jack Severy (sub Josh Mayhew).
